Jersey Shore man wins $1M in ‘Million Dollar Replay’ lottery drawing

James Wood, of Little Egg Harbor, won the top prize – $1 million – at the New Jersey Lottery’s Million Dollar Replay on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Convention Hall in Asbury Park.

A Jersey Shore man hit it big Friday when he was won $1 million at the New Jersey Lottery’s Million Dollar Replay event at Convention Hall in Asbury Park.

While James Wood, of Little Egg Harbor, won the top prize, 14 others walked away with prizes ranging from $25,000 to $100,000. Two of those winners are from Middletown with the rest scattered across the state from Bergen to Salem counties.

Wood and the other winners qualified by going online and entering their non-winning scratch-off ticket for a second chance to win money. On four occasions last year, 100 names were selected, awarded a $250 prize and admission to Friday’s festivities.

Besides the 15 prizes of at least $25,000, seven people won $1,000 at the door. Some guests also got a chance to spin a prize wheel for smaller amounts.

Wood, who attended the event with his brother-in-law, told lottery officials he plans to use part of his winnings on a family vacation to Hawaii.
