The Powerball jackpot sat at $730 million for the drawing Wednesday night. A winning ticket was sold in Maryland, pushing the new jackpot to an estimated $20 million for the next drawing Saturday.

The jackpot was the fourth-largest Powerball prize ever, and it came only a day after nobody won the even-larger Mega Millions prize, which now stands at $970 million.

Winning numbers for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing were: 40-53-60-68-69 and a Powerball of 22.

Earlier this week, the Illinois Lottery said a $50,000 winning ticket was drawn Jan. 13 from Mariano’s at 3020 Wolf Rd. in Westchester. A winning ticket for $1 million was also drawn Jan. 16 at the Circle K at 1300 Carbon St. in Marion, Illinois.

Illinois residents who would like to participate in the Lottery can purchase tickets online at IllinoisLottery.com or using the Illinois Lottery app.

“When visiting a retailer, the Illinois Lottery reminds players to practice safe social distancing and adhere to the store’s safety measures,” a release said.

The Powerball jackpot sat at $730 million for the drawing Wednesday night. The high-prize drawing comes just after no one won the Mega Millions, the other lottery game offered in most of the U.S., sending that top prize up to $970 million.

Powerball prizes have been sold across Illinois over the past several months, equating to $6,660,079 since the jackpot began its roll Sept. 19, 2020.

After the Mega Millions drawing last week, a player from Illinois won $1 million for the third time in just under two weeks, a release said. The ticket was purchased at Lively Liquor at 1170 E. Higgins Rd. in Elk Grove Village.

Illinois residents who would like to participate in the Lottery can do so by purchasing tickets online at IllinoisLottery.com or using the Illinois Lottery app.
